Description
Seizures are abnormal neuronal activity in the brain. Dr. Jennifer Yuen sheds light on what is "normal" and what may signal a serious condition.
Objectives:

Differentiate a seizure from benign movements

Decide when to refer to a neurologist

Distinguish which movements are a neurologic emergency

Phoenix Children's Hospital
Jennifer Yuen, DO earned her medical degree in 2006 from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics also in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Yuen then dedicated a year in Development at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics after completion of her residency in Child Neurology, graduating in 2012. Dr. Yuen is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. She currently is a staff neurologist at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. In her free time, she is developing her talents in art and singing. She has run a marathon (after which she promptly decided she didn’t enjoy running) and prefers to spend her free time traveling, and loves all things Disney and Harry Potter.
