Case Interview Training Programme – IGotAnOffer
Course Description
This course is a bundle containing both the McKinsey Case Interview Training Programme and the BCG & Bain Case Interview Training Programme. You should purchase it if you are preparing for all firms and are not sure with which ones you will be interviewing with yet.
1. Brush up your mathsThe first step of your preparation should be to brush up your maths. Every case interview involves mental calculations. These calculations are not necessarily hard, but what is difficult is to do them quickly and accurately. This training programme contains videos and exercises to refresh your memory on basic mental operations and teach you more advanced maths shortcuts useful in consulting interviews.
2. Learn how to consistently crack the caseThe second step of the programme is to teach you how to consistently crack cases. Over the past few years we have analysed 100s of case interviews and come the conclusion that they can ALL be broken down into SEVEN types of questions (Situation, Framework, Quantitative, Creativity, etc.)
The cornerstone of the programme is the IGotAnOffer Method which teaches you a step-by-step method to consistently crack each of these 7 types of questions. This method is extremely intuitive and easy to apply. And you will learn how to use it both interviewer-led cases (McKinsey) and candidate-led cases (BCG, Bain, and other top firms).
3. Watch a best-in-class candidate solving casesOnce you have learned the IGotAnOffer method, you can then watch a best-in class candidate apply the method by solving 12 live cases. The live case videos are structured so that you can hit pause and answer the interviewer’s question as if you were in a real interview.
Watching a best-in-class candidate will help you master the IGotAnOffer method and learn the small details that make a difference between candidates who get an offer at McKinsey, BCG and Bain, and those who don’t. At each key moment in the live case, we explain with extreme clarity WHY the answer provided by the candidate is great and how you can replicate their example.
4. Work on your weaknesses with detailed PDFsWhen you watch the best-in-class candidate, you will quickly identify areas in case interviews where you struggle more than others. For instance, a lot of candidates who train with us struggle a little bit with framework and quantitative questions at first. This is why we have created detailed PDFs key areas of the case so that you can train on these specific types of questions.
ALL the cases and questions in this programme are from actual past interviews at McKinsey, BCG and Bain. You will therefore be training with questions that are exactly similar to those you will get in your interviews.
5. Impress your interviewer on Fit / PEI questions
At the beginning of each of your interviews, you will spend 10 minutes discussing an aspect of your CV with your interviewer. You will get some questions which are fairly generic such as “Why consulting?” or “Why firm X?” and relatively straight forward to answer.
Both some other questions are much more difficult to tackle. These are called Personal Experience Interviews (PEI) questions and are used both McKinsey as well as other firms. The programme includes a 1h training video to make sure you impress your interviewer when you answer PEI questions. It both covers the main type of PEI questions and how to answer them effectively. Excelling at PEI questions is a great way to set yourself apart.
