Ancient Egypt: History, Hieroglyphs, and Magick – Baal Kadmon
Ancient Egypt has consumed our collective imagination since the beginning of written history. It’s magnificent structures, its complex and rich spirituality and it’s immense power and wealth is the stuff of legend, literally and figuratively speaking. Nearly all civilizations in the fertile crescent and parts of Africa, have been influenced by the Ancient Egyptians. Egypt was the envy of the known world in ancient times.
Despite Ancient Egypt’s 3000 + year history, a lot of the basic facets of the culture were relatively unchanged over those thousands of years. There is a reason for this, and I discuss it in this course.
Egyptian art and religion and their near obsession with death remained relatively intact for thousands of years. In fact, even during the darkest days of Egypt called the “intermediate periods,” in which Egypt was in decline or conquered by foreign people, the invaders kept many of the same traditions in place which created a continuity of culture despite being conquered. Even the conquerors were so impressed by the Ancient Egyptian culture they chose to continue it rather than destroy it. So, in a sense, the ancient Egyptian spirit conquered the conquerors. It is indeed a wonderful area of study.
This course is very comprehensive in so many ways.
If you are interested in the history, this is for you.
If you want to go on a magickal journey, this is for you.
