Description
Benign breast problems are a common presenting complaint in a number of primary care specialties, and affect women across the reproductive and postmenopausal years. This talk will focus on the evaluation and management of common benign breast complaints, with attention to the avoidance of both overtreatment and missed malignancies. We will also consider the current imaging environment and the tools needed to have discussions with patients about the appropriate use of breast imaging.
Learning Objectives:
1. Respond appropriately to benign breast complaints in healthy women across the lifespan
2. Assess the appropriate use of imaging in the evaluation of benign breast complaints
3. Identify patients at increased risk for breast cancer and triage their care
