Description
Hepatorenal Syndrome is a often fatal condition associated with either end stage liver disease or acute fulminant hepatic failure. While it is frequently associated with alcoholic liver disease, it is increasingly seen with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) related to obesity. Common precipitating factors are spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, volume depletion from GI or other causes.
The Washington Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association as a Category 1 CMESponsor.
