Immediately accessible, strengths-based, affordable, mental health services are a challenge to deliver. Walk-in, single session therapy is one solution. This presentation will discuss fundamental principles, guidelines for walk-in single session therapy and clinical examples, as well as describe two distinct settings for providing this type of mental health service.

- To describe a framework for the provision of walk-in single session therapy.
- To describe three differences in the implementation of single session walk-in therapy.

Arnold Slive, PhD Related seminars and products: 2
Dr. Arnold Slive received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University and has been practicing for more than 30 years. He works with individuals, couples and families.
Arnie’s specialties include anxiety, mood disorders, relationship issues, parenting concerns, and child and adolescent behavior issues. His approach is strength-based, assisting clients to recognize and make use of existing resources in the service of resolving life’s difficulties.
Dr. Slive is Visiting Professor of Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. He is a clinical consultant at the Austin Child Guidance Center where he has assisted in the development of a walk-in counseling service.
