1. Be able to describe how acupuncture works from both Eastern and Western medicine perspectives.
2. Feel comfortable knowing when acupuncture is indicated.
3. Be equipped to better inform patients about acupuncture as another modality to deal with both acute and chronic issues.
The Maine Osteopathic Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.The Maine Osteopathic Association designates this program for a maximum of 1.5 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Maine Sports Acupuncture
Zach Haigney is a licensed Acupuncturist in New York, New Jersey, and Maine. His practice, Maine Sports Acupuncture, specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain, acute post-surgical pain and working with athletes seeking an edge in training and competition. Zach came to the practice of acupuncture through the influence of his father and an uncle, a chiropractor and physiatrist respectively, who both tout acupuncture as the key weapon in their arsenal for treating pain safely, effectively and without side effects, costs and unintended consequences of pharmaceutical or interventional treatments. He has received training in Classical Chinese Acupuncture, Trigger Point Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Electroacupuncture, and Structural Integration from the foremost instructors in their respective fields.

Meghann Derosier, DO Related seminars and products: 2
Meghann Derosier graduated from UNECOM in 2007. Upon completing her Family Medicine residency, she served as an Osteopathic Family Physician in the US Air Force. It was there she was given the opportunity to study medical acupuncture with the Helms Medical Institute. She went on to become board certified in Medical Acupuncture. Since separating from the military in 2013, she has worked as a Hospitalist at Eastern Maine Medical Center and currently is a fellow in the Palliative Care and Hospice Fellowship Program at EMMC.
